BRUCE WAYNE
YOUR NAME : Batmanda, Amanda or Bear
CHARACTERS : Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Edward Enigma (the Riddler)
- - - - - - - - - - - -
FULL NAME : Bruce Wayne
ALIAS : Batman
GENDER : Male
AGE : Thirty-three
SIDE : Heroes
PHOTO REFERENCE : Hier ist eins.
OCCUPATION : CEO of Wayne Tech
RESIDENCE : Wayne Manor
REASON FOR BEING : As a child, young Bruce witnessed the murder of his father, and soon after, his mother. With these memories hanging over his head, he felt compelled to get revenge. Prior to his parents' deaths, he discovered that he had a paralyzing fear. When confronted with the desire to find the man who killed his parents -- which expanded to finding the men like that man, in order to save Gotham City from the inevitable downward spiral -- he chose to use the symbol that made him afraid and turn it against villains. Thus, Batman was born.
DESCRIPTION : As the years have gone by, Bruce has developed the personality and looks of his alter-ego. The famous batsuit has changed colors and design many times, while the personality of Batman has become more solid. Currently, the batsuit is Kevlar plating with a thick, dark gray cloth. The black silhouette of the bat rests noticeably on his chest. The cloak and mask are a very dark blue, nearly black, with the mask being made entirely of Kevlar. Two horns and an open space for his lower face are defining features. His cloak, designed by Lucius Fox (along with the rest of his costume, really) is made to stiffen and allow him to seemingly 'fly' over the rooftops of Gotham.
Always on his person is the utility belt, where he stores all of the hand-held do-dads that help him perform many of the otherwise impossible tasks he does when on his nightly travels.
ALTER-EGO : The character of Batman has totally consumed Bruce Wayne to the point that the man he acts when taking up his father's so-called 'throne' is hardly the man he truly is. Bruce is a thirty-three year old billionaire, so naturally he dresses in fine suits and keeps up a cleaned look. His dark brown hair is slicked back and the tell-tale smile in always in place.
When he is alone or among people who he trusts and are aware of his nightly travels, he acts much like Batman himself does. Around others, he keeps up a bubbly appearance, always sprouting confidence and, well, stupidity. He comes off as very foolish and generally needs the assistance of other, "more experienced" CEOs and members of his company in order to keep things going smoothly. In his free-time, he is one to spend money on pointless collections of whatever suits his fancy at the time and attend various fancy parties.
The personality he exerts as Bruce Wayne, CEO of Wayne Tech and Billionaire, is hardly the kind of guy your average citizen of Gotham City is proud of. His understanding that that is necessary to keep Batman's identity secret is what keeps him from being bothered by the false smiles and friendly greetings he receives from his colleagues.
PERSONALITY : Not much is known to others about the personality of Batman. He is intelligent, devising various plans of attack to use against those who threaten Gotham. Many of the basic ideas for weaponry for his and the rest of the Bat Family's use do come from him, although they are actually made possible because of Lucius Fox.
Those who are on his team know very well that he can be as stubborn as a mule. While he is willing to accept help for the less dangerous missions, the same thing can hardly be said for the problematic ones. If he feels those who help are likely to get harmed in any way, he will forcefully decline their help. He would rather put his own life on the line than survive and have someone he knows and cares about die. His stubbornness gets in his way and at times even jeopardizes the result of a particular mission.
The willingness to do whatever it takes to protect his family boils down to when his parents were murdered. Watching this happen rooted an almost obsessive need to protect those close to him at all cost. He would do whatever it took to keep them safe, as well as the city, for the city is a part of him.
LIKES : Technology, purity, dogs, calm, relaxing
DISLIKES : Bats, crime, being fooled, having to act like Bruce Wayne in front of people, having to leave Gotham City on business trips, putting the Bat Family in danger
ABILITIES :
- Bruce's strongest and most prominent ability would be his strength in martial arts. Because of his principles that prevent him from murdering anyone, even if they are a villain, the use of hand-to-hand combat works better on his part than if he were to use something like, say, a gun, where a wound would be more likely to be fatal.
- Without his agility and prowess, Batman would not end up being quite as mysterious as he tends to be viewed. Keeping himself from being caught helps to ensure that Bruce Wayne is not suspected as being the Batman.
- With a history of fighting the criminally insane, keeping up with the newest technology, consistently learning and devising new plans to defeat his enemies, it is only expected that he would be intelligent.
GOAL IN LIFE : Bruce's life has been consumed by his alter-ego, so it is only natural that his life goals would be controlled by Batman as well. Over time, the main driving force behind his decisions grew to be the survival of Gotham City. His passion for the city he was born in drives him to continue fighting crime within its borders and try to purify it, so it can become the great place it once was.
FAMILY :
FATHER -- Thomas Wayne (deceased)
MOTHER -- Martha Wayne (deceased)
GRANDFATHER -- Patrick Wayne (deceased)
BUTLER -- Alfred Pennyworth
HISTORY : Bruce Wayne was born to Thomas Wayne, the CEO of Wayne Tech and a billionaire, and Thomas' wife, Martha. As a young child, it was common for him to go with his parents to opera showings by the harbor. During one particular show, they were walking through the alleys when a thief pulled a gun on his father.
Watching the murder of Thomas, and shortly after, Martha, would be devastating to any person, but especially to a boy of his young age. The company was passed down to him to take care of when he became of age. Until then, he would be raised by the family's butler, Alfred Pennyworth. The old man became more of a father to him than he could have ever asked for, although he never forgot his real parents.
The memory rooted a strong desire to revenge them into his mind, and along with it, a desire to protect the city he grew up in.
